I haven’t done a monthly favorites post in a while, which is in part due to me being more conscious of my spending. As a result, I’ve limited my purchases over the last few months to things that I really enjoy and are somewhat “necessities.” So today I want to share with you my April top 5 favorites.
Schmidt’s is one of my favorite brands for bodycare essentials due to their focus on providing quality products without harmful ingredients. One of the first products I tried was the Bergamot & Lime deodorant. Formulated with ingredients such as arrowroot powder, baking soda, shea butter & coconut oil, it’s a great alternative to traditional deodorant.

In addition, Schmidt’s has a sensitive deodorant line for those that have allergies to baking soda. I recentl placed and order for one of their sensitive skin limited edition scents, Lily of the Valley and can’t wait to try it. With so many to choose from, Schmidts deodorant is definitely a keeper for me.
As I was looking for a healthier alternative to mainstream body wash, I decided to try one of Schmidt’s bar soaps. I’m glad I did because my skin has felt incredible since using it. What I like about this soap is that it lathers well but doesn’t strip my skin of moisture. I’ve tried several scents including the Rose & Vanilla, Bergamot & Lime and most recently Ylang-Ylang and Calendula.
Each has a pleasant scent that isn’t overly potent or irritating. They’re also reasonably priced for a natural soap. You can find them in several stores including Target. There’s also the option to set up a customized subscription to have them home delivered.

I’ve had my fair share of skin troubles over the years which is why skincare is something that I’m passionate about. Several years ago I decided to transition my skincare to more natural based products. I wanted products that contained clean ingredients that were both pronounceable and effective.
Cocokind skincare is an AMAZING brand with products that are naturally formulated, effective, and aren’t ridiculously priced. What more could you ask for in a brand! My top favorites have been the organic rosewater facial toner and raspberry vinegar toner. I attribute some the clarity and smooth texture of my skin to these two products. I use the rosewater toner in the morning, which provides great hydration to my skin after cleansing.
There are many benefits to using apple cider vinegar, so I became intrigued when I saw Cocokind’s raspberry vinegar toner. Ever since I started using it, I’ve noticed my skin isn’t as oily. If I do experience a breakout, it clears up within a day or two when using this toner.

As an avid reader I couldn’t pass up the chance to read Becoming by Michelle Obama. I enjoyed reading every chapter as I learned more about her journey from humble beginnings in the South Side of Chicago to the First Lady of the United States.
Mrs. Obama did an excellent job at telling her story, which is both inspiring and motivating. I highly recommend this book, especially to young women who are trying to figure out their place in the world and who they are becoming.
Mejuri is a brand that just gets things right! Known for their minimal and elegant designed jewelry, they have created two candles, one of which I absolutely love. The PM candle is a beautiful mix of moss, tuberose and amber florals. Although the scent is initially soft, when the candle burns it fills the room with a beautiful relaxing aromatic blend. It has become a staple in my evening routine, or whenever I want to sit back and relax.
Tell me, what are some favorite things you’ve been loving lately?
